  1. well i cant help u buy one, but i sure will come along on a cruiz wit u when u get it!!

  2. Go to a boat show or to a boat club. People who have had boats are a good source of info. You cant always trust a salesman :)

  3. First decide on the amount you want to spend.2 what do you want to do with it and where will it be used.3 Where will you keep it, dock or trailer in a storage place or in your yard.theres no one boat that can do all really,so what you want to do with it is just as important as the cost.Look for a boat thats designed for the use you will be doing.Oh dont forget fuel consumtion,it can add up fast  if your looking for a power boat.10% of the hp is a rule of thumb for fuel use +or- depending on the hull design.

  4. where are you going to keep it docked?

do you want something you can tow?

how much do you want to spend?

go to marinas and talk to the boaters for their opinions and don't buy a new boat, They cost too much and only depreciate.

  5. Sail or motor boat? Where you'll put it, lake, river, sea?

Long trips, short? Fishing? Sleep in? Expensive? cheap thills?
