PLEASE DON'T LET THE LENGTH SCARE YOU. Please help me. here's the situatuion:

i applied to some colleges, got in, blah, blah, blah, and i think i may be going to emmanuel college in boston. they didn't get my fafsa in time so i was not granted any money. i applied to many small outside scholarships, but am not interested in doing any more of those because they will only give me $250-$1000 which is nothing compared to the total cost of college. i will need to go into financing.

but how does it all work? when do i pay them? how often do i pay them? how much do i pay them each time? how do they determine this? etc

plus what are some great student and parent loan organizations? who can i get loans from that will let me pay after i graduate? will they require me to pay everything at once or a certain amount for time intervals?

any and all help will be greatly appreciated.

  1. First of all, the final deadline for the fafsa for next year isn't until June 30, 2009.  So, although you likely missed the schools "priority" deadline, don't give up on getting federal aid.  Any and all financial aid is dependent on the fafsa application (at any school you go to) and your ability to get all the information to the school to process your fafsa.  Find out where you are and what you need to get your financial aid file complete.

This is an expensive private school so it looks like they do have a payment option... http://www.emmanuel.edu/Tuition_&_Aid/Tu...

from what I understand, it looks like they let you make 5 equal payments due on the 15th of each month from July to Nov to pay off your ballance for the fall semseter.

14,100+5,900=20K divided into 5 equal payments is still 4,000 a month, too darn much.  Remember you will have to go through this again after Christmas, and again the next semester, and the next semster, and the next semester.
