1 5/7 + 2 3/5 =

11 1/2 - 13 2/3 =

6/7 - 1 7/3 + 2 5/6 =

4 1/5 * 6 2/7

4 2/3 (divided by) 3 3/5

6 - 11 + 15 * 4 / 2^3

  1. 4 11/35

    -2 1/6

    5/14

    26 2/5

    1 8/27

    -2 1/2

  2. First, find the least common multiples of both denominators. For example, 1 5/7 + 2 3/5= so the LCM of 7 and 5 is 35. Then, change the numerators. Example:

    7 times what equals 35?

    5. So multiply the numerator of the first fraction (5) by 5. so the first fraction's numerator is 25.

Then, change numerator #2. 5 times what number equals 35? (7)

    Multiply 3 by 7. You get 21.

    So, 1 25/35 + 2 21/35= 3 26/35

Subtraction follows the same process except that you subtract instead of adding.

For multiplying fractions, you must change both fractions into improper fractions. Example:

    4 1/5 * 6 2/7

For the first fraction, multiply the denominator (5) by four, then add the numerator (1). So your result is 21/5. Do the same to the second fraction. Then you just multiply numerator with numerator and denominator with denominator.

You get 968/35. Now, change this into a mixed number and you get 27 23/35.

For dividing fractions, you must also change the mixed numbers into improper fractions. Then, after turning them into improper fractions, take the second fractions and switch the numerator into the denominator's place and the denominator into the numerator's place. Now, just multiply numerator with numerator and denominator with denominator. Change the result into a mixed number and reduce if possible.

For the last equation, I do not see what the problem is. Perhaps it is the power? 2^3? If so, then you do 2x2x2.

So, do 6-11 and you get a -5. + 15 to get -20. multiply by four (when you multiply a negative with a positive, the result is a negative) so you get -80. Then divide by 2^3 (8). When you divide a negative by a positive, the result is also a negative. -80 divided by 8 is -10.

    I hope it helped.

  3. You really should learn these basic math functions.  This isn't Algebra 2 but basic math.

To add / subtract fractions you need to change the fractions so it'll have a common denominator.

To multiply, change the fractions to an improper fraction first.

To divide, change the divisor to its reciprocal then multiply.

If you have multiplication/division and addition/subtraction mixed in the same equation, multiply/divide first then add/subtract.

I suggest you see your math teacher/tutor for better explanation for this.  It is quite hard to explain this here.

  4. I think you're just trying to get people to do your homework for you. These aren't hard, you just have to take the time to solve them.
