Check your audio.settings. Click start, lower left then click control panel. Double click the sounds and audio icon. Click the audio tab and ensure the right device is selected if not change it and tick use only default devices. Do the same with the voice tab and click o.k. While you are there you can also test your equipment. You might also do this: Click actions top line in the messenger window scroll down and click call setup and run it.
