Can someone help me with "photoshopping" this pic?

im trying to put the muscles on the back in greyscale, and still have the tatt visible. so layer one, is the muscle tissue in black and white, then layer two would be the tatt and the rest... i hope you understand what i am asking for.

ok i'm not sure how this would work because the tatoo isn't that bright you know.. but you could use the lasso tool and crop the tattoo out, make it grayscale and then paste it back in

I desaturated both images, cropped the tattoo pic, reduced the opacity of it, increased the contrast in both pics and layered em up. Hope it's what you were thinking of. It only took a couple minutes, so it's a bit rough. It's hard to get a good balance with the tattoo image, maybe if you take another photo in brighter light it would work slightly better. Peace!
