Can someone help me with sims 2?

Ok, I have sims 2 deluxe and every time i put it in the computer, it will look like it will load it and show that thing where it says things on the bottom like "grilling grilled cheese" and "loading vroom sounds" and then when its ALMOST loaded, it will freeze and it'll say "this application has now crashed. It will now terminate." I've tried cleaning it off and EVERYTHING! can anyone help?

Open My Documents/Ea Games/The Sims 2 folder.  Find the Groups.cache and Accessory.cache files and delete them.  Try running the game again.

If that doesn't work, I would MOVE anything you have in the My Documents/Ea Games/The Sims 2/Downloads folder.  Just move the whole Downloads folder to your desktop.  Try running the game now.

If is still doesn't work and the CD itself is clean, your CD/DVD player might be dirty.  They DO get dirty.  You will need a Laser Lens Cleaner.  You can pick one up at Wal-mart or any number of places.  Run that four or five times.  Try running the game now.

If none of these things work . . . I guess the last resort is reinstalling it.

Do you have any downloaded content? If so you might want to get the clean pack installer, from Mod the sims2 and install it to look through your files and see if anything you have is corrupt.

You also might want to uninstall and reinstall the game. If you have downloads in you game go into the ea games, the sims2, downloads folder from your windows explorer and drag your download files to a safe place like your desktop, Then you can drag them back once the game is reinstalled.
