i need help knowing rather you divide or multiply.please show your work.here is one.the current price is $33.75 this is 12.5% more than last years price. what was last years price.last question the current price is $29.10 this is 3% less than the old price what was the old price.please show your work on how you got that answer. thanks

  2. Think of it like this 1.125x=33.75 so divide 33.75 by 1.125 to get last year's price.  Then for the second try multiplying 29.1 by 1.03 to get the old price.

  3. 33.75 /  12.5 = 2.7   to check if correct  multiply  the 2.7  to 12.5

                                                    percent.

  4. Do your own homework!

    (Find a primary school maths text and review the relevant chapters if you're genuinely stuck!)
