I don't know if I'm getting a bit ahead of myself as we've only been trying for a month but..... I was on the pill for over 10 years. I came off them and had my first real period 25 days later on 26th July. This ended on 31st July. Then on the 8th August I had real aching pains on my lower right hand side of abdomen (which people have said was me ovulating). I had s*x with my hubby most days upto and the day after that. I don't know if it's just me really hoping I'm pregnant but I just feel as though my b***s are bigger, although maybe I'm imagining it, I'm sure I've been going to the loo more too and also, just today I've been getting that same sensation as when I was ovulating, although not quite as bad as that. I did a test earlier, but it said negative, does this mean 100% that I'm not or could I just be doing it too early on? I think judging by last months cycle I'm due on around the 19th. Should I be doing a test closer to that day, or shall I just take it, its not worked this month? I'm wishing as hard as I can that I'm pregnant. Thanks for your responses.

  1. stop thinking about it and you will get pregnant

  2. It may just be to soon to test. Wait at least till the day your periods are due then test again.

    Good luck :-)

  3. First of all, the "Fallie" person above has some real issues going on that, thankfully, are not related to you and your question...

It's just a little too soon to know if you successfully conceived or not. The possibility that those tweaks of pain on your side is ovulation is a strong possibility. Regardless, you'll get there eventually! And it's fun on the way, too. *-*

  4. You took your test WAY too early.  You need to wait until at least the 19th if that's when AF is due and it would be better to wait a week.  Wait until after Tuesday, then test.  Good luck and baby dust to you!

  5. Even though you've been off the pill for a while you still have some of the hormones in your system. I doubt you're already pregnant and if you are it most likely is too soon for you to be detecting it with a home test. Tract your ovulation with a kit and try when it's most optimal for you. Also try to relax, you'll be pregnant before you know it.

PS - if it's still not working after a while have your hubby checked out. He may have slow or weak swimmers.

    Good Luck

  6. You could take an early pregnancy test (first response) and may tell you if you are pregnant as its 4 days before ur due on - dont get ur hopes up tho as u can get chemical pregnancies at this time where you could be pregnant but miscarry almost immediately this happened to me last year.

You could very well be pregnant my mum did the same with me she came off the pill was advised by doc she wouldnt conceive for 12 months and concieved the very first month :)

    Good luck :)

  7. it could take a couple months for the pill to get out of your system but don't worry it will happen, but if you think your pregnant now i would take a test just to be safe because they have the early pregnancy tests these days.if you keep having pains in your abdomen i would get that looked at because i had that and i had ovarian cysts.i hope i helped you in some way,but anyways i would like to wish you good luck and i hope you have a beautiful healthy baby

  8. You can go to the doctor for a test. They can detect early pregnancy ALOT better than an at home test.  I found out 10 days after conception from the doctors office.

But if you want to take it at home, wait til 2 weeks after your expected period, then take it again

  9. I too have been on the pill for almost 8 years now. I know that for a couple of months, when I was unable to take it, my body went through changes. My cramps were harder; my ovulation was felt more. It had been a long time since I had ovulated. They make tests that can predict up to 5 days before your missed period. Try one of those. If it is negative, you may not be pregnant. Also, before a woman starts her period, (i myself have experienced this,) many have the "I'm pregnant" feeling. God will grant you this gift in time. Keep trying. How exciting this time is! I wish you luck.

  10. I would wait until you have missed your period then test again.  A friend of mine was on the pill for 12 yrs and got pregnant the month after she went off of it..... so there is always a possiblilty.  I have my fingers crossed for you:)

  11. Well honey...usually with things like this time is the best thing you can give yourself as well as a visit to the doctors office. On the other hand, some women are lucky enough to become pregnant quickly after they stop taking the pill after so many years...also I never heard of painful ovulation, you should get that checked out. Because you have been on the pill for a long time it is best to visit your doctor (ob/gyn) as regularly as possible you never know what side effects you could be suffering from them. Don't rely on hear say...be safe and see a doctor always. Good luck to you sis

  12. probably just your period coming and your body getting back to normal, after 10yrs on the pill id think it will take you a few good months to get pregnant. i was on the pill for 7yrs and it took us 6 months, and were both in our early 20s healthy fit, dont drink/do drugs etc. as for ovulating theres no way of saying it could have been then, it could have just been a stitch, you need to really wait a few months let your cycles get back to normal and then you can try and find when you ovulate by temp charting, cm. or ovulation sticks, and go from there! if this is your first month then theres no way of you knowing how long your cycle is, it can take a while for it to come back to normal and be regular.

  13. I would say it might be too early so I would wait two weeks ( I know torture when you want a baby) then test. If still no and no period go to the doc and they can tell what is up. Good luck.

  14. pregnancy tests get more accurate after you miss your period. early ones work up to 5 days before but it might give you a negative or a false positive.

  15. I have a mate who spends every spare penny on pregnancy tests...bottom line is: DON'T take them before you are even due on! Also, b***s do get bigger and sore before a period, you DO go to the loo more at the time it's due, and seriously, you are more likely to conceive if you relax...it is early days...enjoy lovemaking with your partner, it'll be okay! Just chill!!!
