I need a little help, I've been stuck on this problem for a while.

It says to use synthetic division to factor the polynomials...

x^4 – x^3 – 11x^2 – 5x + 30

Thanks for any help! =]

  1. I think you start with Ps and Qs (products and quotients).

    >List all the factors of the constant DON'T FORGET +/-

    >divide those by the factors of the first coefficient (1)

Now you have the divisors, and you have to try all of them until something works.

From there you divide like regular division, except with the coefficients.

To check your answers use matrix on a graphing calc. Just ask if you want to know how to do that.

hope that didn't make it worse
