Do you have any more photos that would show the leaves better? And can you give more info on where you found it. There are similar flowers in the woods, but I don't know what that plant is. So I don't dare touch it. The flower looks like a single bloom Rose of Sharon.  But I can't see the leaves well.

What I can see of the leaves may be rose hips like the other answer you received. They come in assorted styles and colors, including single, double, and rose like bloom's.  Rose hips have rose like leaves that some times have a little fuzz to them. It is a rose bush that produces a vitamin C fruit that forms after the flower dies. The fruit is used to make jellies etc...

I think it is a beach plum (Prunus maritima).. It is a bush with stickers and fruit that looks like rose hips.. It grows on the dunes on the Atlantic coast.
