  1. The plant in the pictures is Horseweed.  Here is what you need to know about it for... 'medicinal'... purposes:

In traditional North American herbal medicine, it was boiled to make steam for sweat lodges, taken as a snuff to stimulate sneezing during the course of a cold and burned to create a smoke that warded off insects. Nowadays it is valued most for its astringency, being used in the treatment of gastro-intestinal problems such as diarrhoea and dysentery. It is said to be a very effective treatment for bleeding haemorrhoids.

The whole plant is antirheumatic, astringent, balsamic, diuretic, emmenagogue, styptic, tonic and vermifuge. It can be harvested at any time that it is in flower and is best used when fresh. The dried herb should not be stored for more than a year. The seeds can also be used.

An infusion of the plant has been used to treat diarrhoea and internal haemorrhages or applied externally to treat gonorrhoea and bleeding piles. The leaves are experimentally hypoglycaemic.

The essential oil found in the leaves is used in the treatment of diarrhoea, dysentery and internal haemorrhages. It is a uterine stimulant and is also said to be valuable in the treatment of inflamed tonsils plus ulceration and inflammation of the throat.

A tea of the boiled roots is used to treat menstrual irregularities.

A homeopathic remedy is made from the plant. It is used in the treatment of haemorrhoids and painful menstruation.

  2. If you have to ask if it is ok to smoke it probably isn't other wise you would already know.

LOL... I just looked at the  pics... its a freaking weed... not "Weed"

  3. Well for me it is toxic!

because I am allergic to Goldenrod....

But I am not stupid enough to smoke an unknown substance...Oh yeah, I don;t smoke any substance anymore.

I like my lungs the way they are

  4. No it's not poisonous or toxic.

It's a Canada Goldenrod (Tall Goldenrod)

    Solidago canadensis (Solidago altissima

Goldenrods do not cause hayfever. It's pollen is carried by insects. The ragweed which blooms at the same time is the culprit.

  5. You shouldn't smoke something if you don't know what it is. (you shouldn't even smoke in the first place)

  6. it looks like it may be a pot plant but deffinantly not ready for harvesting.

  7. Listen up.  It is a weed.

Now, why the h**l do you want to smoke anything?  I couldn't tell you what it would do to you and its likely you wouldn't know either.

But it likely couldn't hurt you.  Can't hurt a brain that's already dead.

  8. What are you thinking smoking something w/o knowing if it's poisonous or not????

It's not pot, if that's what you were hoping.

  9. It's not pot if that's what you're asking, and why would you want to take a chance on whether it's poisonous or not?  Don't be stupid(er).

  10. yep

  11. did you smoke it already? cause if you did it was probabally pointless cause you were probabally already high besides pothead you aint supposed to smoke c**p that you dont even know wat it is

  12. You can smoke most anything- when I was young we tried banana peels... take my word, it's terrible. But I did not die, I think. Anyway, I've been gardening for many years, and I can guarantee  you it isn't what you wish it was. Look out for 5 (7) fingered leaves and smoke the female flowers and the tiny top ones, after drying them slowly ( 3-4 month works the best). Beware of mould, though. Keep the project dry all the time. And improve your research; after all this is a really dumb question, you know?

  13. It looks like a mare's tail. It is a weed and not the kind you are looking for. They can grow over 6 ft tall.
