  1. Public Utilities ,Hydro. If question not wag one.

  2. Well, you answer you own question, but without any basis.  If you mean is any program perfect, that's a different and impossible standard.  Can programs be improved?  Of course.

Social Security has been a remakably successful program.  (Just ask the millions of Americans who rely on it.)  Civil rights laws have made a huge difference in the lives of racial minorities, women, and people with disabilities.  Medicaid and Medicare are successful programs.  The federal highway system is successful.  And don't forget the military.

  3. The IRS is extremely efficient at taking my money every year.

Social Security is successful?!  It created a whole generation of people who rely on the federal government rather than themselves.  Not to mention the fact that the program is on schedule to be completely insolvent in about 15 years.

  4. The government has perpetuated their concept of success, while not contiguously imploring the checks and balances system that was designed to insure individual rights for all people. They are above oversight-and have become lawless.

  5. The tax cut program.  It works EVERY time!

  6. Social Security is a success.  Millions of people have benefited from that program.  The program itself is a good thing; it's the fact that the government has spent the trust fund instead of keeping it separate as originally intended, that has messed it up.

Anti-discrimination laws have done wonders for this country.  Surely you don't think that prohibiting slavery and giving women the right to vote (the first anti-discrimination laws) are *bad* things?

During the depression, government instituted the Civilian Conservation Corps; which put millions of people to work building and maintaining our infrastructure.  That program not only lifted the economy out of the depression, the work done accelerated growth in the US like never before.

The Park Service, and Interior Department do a fantastic job protecting and maintaining our National Parks.

The original GI Bill returned to the economy something like $7 for every $1 spent on providing education and career services to our troops returning from WWII.

    Other programs worth noting:

The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children

    The CDC

    OSHA

    NASA

    The Military

The government isn't ALL bad.  And government workers truly do try their best.

  7. US Military as a provider for the common defense has had wins and losses, but overall, they are way ahead of what is second best.

  8. Our mint for making money. That is the only one I can think of right now.

  9. NASA has done some cool work and the post office works pretty good, the mint turns out a fine product
