the distance to the sun from the nine planets ranges from 57.9 million kilometers to 5900 million kilometers. Write and absolute value inequality that describes the possible distances from a planet to the sun.

    We have::

    the distance to the sun from the nine planets is in between 57.9 million km adn 5900 million km.  Or, we can write as:

      57.9 million kilometers <  x  < 5900 million kilometers  


  2. So the distance that a planet is is between 57.9 and 5900 million kilometers..  Think about it this way

    57.9           X                     5900

    Where x is your planet.  So x is less than 5900 and greater than 57.9, so it is 57.9 >x < 5900
