Thai and Malaysians are also sundadonts.  About all you can say is that you are related probably more closely than most other groups of people.  Since Cherokees don't. have full beards, it probably tends to make them not as close as other groups of sundadonts.  

According to the wikipedia, the Ainu have close relatives throughout Asia including Mongolia.  It is probably more accurate to say that you both share common ancestry maybe 10,000 years ago.  The genes have been widely distributed since then.

They are more likely to have some ancient European Solutrean ancestry than Ainu. the Ainu were more to the West side of the country. the Cherokee have haplotype X, a kind of mitochondrial DNA that could only have come from the Western part of Europe, over 20,000 years ago.

The people that were in America first (Australoid, Ainu, Solutrean) seem to have been mostly wiped out by the Asian Clovis colonists.

The ancestors of what make up the native americans and east asians, were originally all one tribe.  What has been discovered by Doctor Spencer Well's genographic project, is that all the peoples of east Asia, Chinese, Japanese, Koreans, Mongolians, etc, and the peoples of the Americas the native americans, all share the same paternal ancestor, however, the reason there are differences, is because while the various subgroups of "asian" peoples all have the same "father," they all have different mothers.

That is, one man, fathered children on a woman, who would go on to become the native americans, and then, on another woman, who would go on to become the Chinese, and so on.  This is not unfeasable, because polygamy has existed for centuries.  In other words, all east asian peoples, descend from the same man.  That is why there are Chinese who look native american, and why there are native americans who look east asian.  The differences in skin pigmentation are due largely both to weather conditions, and different maternal ancestry.

So, what proof is there, that you can see for yourself, that native americans and east asians are related?

1)  For one thing the features.  Both east asians and full blooded native americans have sparse body hair or no body hair at all except on the head.

2)  Both have prominent cheekbones, more prominent than in any other group of people.

3)  Both east asians and native americans have a quiet temperament, and both east asian women, and native american women, are thin skinned and hot tempered.  Indeed, many east asian girls I've dealt with often remind me of native american girls from central america in terms of personality.  And they seem to be clueless as to how similar they are to each other which of course adds to their cuteness but that is another story.

4)  East Asians in general, AND full blooded native americans, have extremely high tolerance for suffering and hardship, far higher than any other group of people on this earth.  The reason most masters of martial arts will always be east asian, is the higher tolerance for suffering and hardship east asians have.

Many personality traits I have seen in native americans, I have also seen in east asians.  Obviously enough because the two peoples are genetically related.  Indeed, the whole American cultural notion, that Mexicans are somehow inferior, based on so-called scientific studies which in reality are racist, biased views of people abusing their academic authority, has absolutely no basis in the genetic evidence found by Dr. Wells.

If east asians and "hispanics" of native american descent are virtually identical genetically, why is it that east asians are stereotyped as "smart," while native americans are stereotyped as "stupid?"  You would think, that having a similar paternal ancestry that their intelligence would be the same, but clearly enough, the intelligence difference can not be genetic because they are the same on their father's side.  The difference is therefore likely more rooted in environment, as well as beliefs about themselves.

Most native americans I have dealt with, again, personality wise they remind me of Chinese, Japanese and Koreans.

As to the Cherokee being part ainu, east asians are all one HUGE family.  Taken together; the native americans, Chinese, and east asians in general, easily form the largest group of people on this earth.  In fact, in humanity's future, their numbers will ensure that everyone will someday have slanted eyes, and asian girls will rule the world because of the power of their cuteness.
