Can someone please answer this Math Riddle?

Question

Sorry...can't use "to the power of" it needs to be only the numbers given and only basic math.

2+4+8 = 14

14 - 8=6

6+2=8

8/8=1

1+6=7

i used 2,4, and 8

the only answer i can think of is this

8-7=1

     0

1+4  = 2

this is kind of tricky because i cant superscript but the 0 is supposed to represent "to the 0 power"
