Can someone please explain the Haas / CNC and Hendricks relationship?

If Tony goes to the dark side how can a true Tony fan support him?

The people who answered before me are right about HMS supplying engines,data,chassis,etc. However,if Tony decides to purchase that team,it doesn't necessarily mean that he will elect to continue the same relationship with HMS(he could develop a similar relationship with JGR with the team instead of HMS).If you are a Tony fan,don"t give up on him,though; he will still be the same ol' Smoke in any ride.

The above answer is correct. Haas Racing is basically just Hendrick Lite. One more example that Nascar's 4 car per team rule won't quite do what it's supposed to. Hendrick and Haas are basically the same team, similar to Roush and Yates, and RCR and DEI. It's just a matter of filling out the proper paperwork.

HMS supplies Haas/CNC with engines and chassis. HMS also shares technical data with Haas/CNC. The same thing JGR does with Hall of Fame, and Roush and Yates(whose shops are actually right next door to each other).

The relationship is only that Haas CnC is so bad that they get engines from Hendrick. I guess it's that they're both Chevy.

Haas buys motors from HMS like people have pointed out.

If "true fans" don't support him for going to another team, then they aren't "true fans" anyway.

not only does hendrick supply engines and technical support to Haas/CNC, he also is handling (or strongly advising on) the financial end of things for the team while gene haas is in prison serving time for tax evasion until his expected release date in october, 2009.

Hendrick supplies the engines, chassis, and some technical assistance to Haas-CNC. I have a friend that was an Intern for Hendrick with the old 25 team until mid-way through 2007 and they couldn't offer him a full-time position, so he got a job with Haas-CNC. I'm guessing that may be a case of Hendrick helping Haas-CNC out with personnel also. Obviously, Haas-CNC doesn't  have the same caliber drivers that Hendrick does, but with Tony Stewart and another top-notch driver like Ryan Newman or Martin Truex they could run well similar to the way the 11 team turned around when Denny Hamlin got in it and the 18 team when Kyle Busch started driving it this year.

Hendrick gives Hass/CNC engines and chassis. Hass/CNC is basically hendrick cars with a different team name.
