  1. Well let's see, there's preschool and pre-k first and then:

    Kindergarten: 5-6

    First grade: 6-7

    Second grade: 7-8

    Third grade: 8-9

    Fourth grade: 9-10

    Fifth grade: 10-11

    Sixth grade: 11-12

    Seventh grade: 12-13

    Eighth grade: 13-14

    (then is high school)

    Ninth grade: 14-15

    Tenth grade: 15-16

    Eleventh grade: 16-17

    Twelfth grade: 17-18

And the pledge of allegiance is

"I pledge allegiance, to the flag, of the United States of America. And to the Republic for which it stands, one nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all."

And it used to be required for kids to say, but not anymore although in many schools they still say it.

  2. Theoretically, at least, American children have to COMPLETE a grade (and pass an associated test) before being allowed to move on to the next "grade level".

First Grade starts after Kindegarten, usually at age 6 or 7.  After that, if you successfully complete each grade, you should attend Middle school from 9 to 13, and High School from 14 to 18.

If you fail a grade, you are typically required to repeat it until you pass.  In theory!

P.S. The "Pledge of Allegiance" is "I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the republic for which it stands, one nation indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.", and many schools still ask students to recite it, though it has been deemed unConstitutional to require it, so they don't have to if they don't want to.

  3. Okay, in England you go to reception in the school year in which you will be five (from 1st September one year to 31st August the next). Then the next year is year 1 and so on all the way up to year 13 which is the school year in which you will be 18.

It's almost unheard of not to be in the right year for your agegroup - kids aren't "held back". But sometimes very bright kids who are old in their year might be moved into the year above, and a struggling child who had been ill a lot (possibly was only in the older year because they had been born very premature) and was young in their year might start school a year late.

  4. Most of the 8th graders at my school are around the age 13 and 14.

And for the pledge...where I live both Elementary, Middle, and High School say the pledge.

    Good Luck!! :)

  5. 13 or 14 years old  in the 8th grade

  6. I'm in 8th grade, and my classmates and I are about 13 or 14 years old.

At my school we do not say the Pledge of Allegience.

    Hope I Helped! =]

  7. well it has been awhile since i went to school let's see 8th grade here in america you would be 14, the pleadge of allegiance i think i stopped singing that after 6th grade, pretty much ur schools and american schools are the same age for each grade hope this helps, later:P
