  1. Example: A person who uses a wheelchair for mobility is not "handicapped" in an employment setting that does not require walking or climbing . another setting she might be "handicapped." A person with a disability may also be "handicapped" due to society's attitude towards the disability, e.g., if society views people with neurobiological conditions as being "crazy" or somehow "less than" others, then the individual with such a known diagnosis may be considered "handicapped."

  2. the handicap system is basically an average of all your previous and current scores. say you had a 77 as an average score. your handicap would be a 5 because 72 is par and 77 minus 72 is equal to 5. HOPE THIS HELPS :)

  3. It is a somewhat complex formula based on how a scratch golfer would do on a particular course and weigh that with a bogey golfer to get an index that you can adjust scores to even the playing field between different skill levels of golfers.

It is designed for players to play to a higher level.

If you want the specific calculation or want to see what your handicap might be, check out this site: http://www.GolfFoundations.com/handicap.... It will show you how a handicap is calculated and how you can do it for yourself. There is also a handicap calculator to enter your scores and figure your handicap. There is also a course lookup if you don't know the slope and rating of your favorite course.
