  1. yawing :turnning r/l ina horizontal plan

spoilers :air flow over wing controling elements

trim :element at the trailing adge reduces the apllied force needed

after burner:a mechanisim used to maximize the jet effect

    thank you: merrcy

  2. Yaw-The motion you get when applying rudder.

Spoilers-Usually used on larger aircraft , they are effective at slowing the aircraft only at higher speeds , they are panels on top of the wing.

Trim- A smaller panel on the elevator , relieves control pressure.

After-burner-This is a mode of thrust on military fighters , basically maximum thrust.

  3. Yaw - side to side pivot around the vertical axis

Spoilers - the devices on the top of the wings that upset (spoil) the airflow, thus reducing the lift that can be produced

Trim - an adjustment tab on an aerodynamic surface (ailerons, elevator, rudder) that neutralizes any of the forces, thus relieving the pilot of having to hold pressure on the flight controls

Afterburner - part of a jet engine where more fuel is added to the exhaust stream, thus producing substantially more power.  This is mostly for military aircraft.  When in 'burner' the rate of fuel used increases substantially.

  4. after burner is re-igniting the fuel that isn't consumed in the primary conbustion chamber of jet engine - they may add more fuel to the mix to level it.

yaw is the movement of the plane about its vertical axis, roll is movement about its horizontal axis, and pitch is around its perpendicular (think wings)

spoilers disrupt air flow causing loss of lift, or additional drag.

trim balances control forces for the current pitch/yaw/power setting (there is more than one type of trim) most simple ariplanes only have pitch trim - in a mooney, they whole tail section is re-aligned to balance the pitch/power combination (so you can release the yoke, and it won't move)

  5. Yaw is a turning action around the center of lift on a vertical axis.

Spoilers are controls that "spoil" the air flow over the wing, thus reducing the lift of the wing.  They have little effect on speed in most airplanes, as opposed to Speed Brakes, which act to slow an airplane in flight.

Trim is the effect of using small accessory tabs attached to the control surfaces to "trim" the airplane so as to reduce or eliminate the hand control forces needed to maintain a certain attitude in flight.

An afterburner is a device attached to the outlet of a turbojet engine in a military aircraft.  The afterburner produces additional thrust by igniting unburned fuel in the exhaust stream.

    You're welcome.

  6. Yaw is the side to side movement of the aircraft.....imagine a model airplane on a flat surface as you turn it left to right.

Spoilers are used to induce drag or spoil the airflow over the wing surfaces...there are ground spoilers and flight spoilers..ground spoilers to increase drag and help slow down the aircraft on landing..flight spoilers also increase drag but are positioned to help turn the airplane.

Trim is used to relieve the pilot from having to maintain pressure on the flight controls. The rudder, ailerons, and elevators have trim tabs to accomplish this.

After burner is when you dump raw fuel into the exhaust flow and ignite it. This used on military aircraft only to gain a speed advantage or to achieve max thrust, also there are different stages of afterburner.

  7. Yaw is rotation about the aircraft's Z axis.  The Z axis is perpendicular to the longitudinal and lateral axes.  There are many times when the Z axis is not vertical.  (When bank or pitch are not 0 degree, the Z axis is not vertical).

Spoilers ruin smooth airflow.  --Designed to reduce overall lift, or in some cases cause a lateral imbalance in lift (for roll).

Trim is a mechanical way of neutralizing control-stick or control-yoke pressure while keeping pressure applied to a (rudder, elevator, rudder) control surface.

Afterburner is the aft section of a turboramjet where fuel can be injected into the exhaust flame.

  8. I think you have your answers already and I hope this site will help you in the future
