Here's the description:

"With a $5.00 Bounty & $35.00 to prize pool. $50.00 Buy-in for $3,000 in Tournament Chips. Re-entry and alternates allowed within the 1st hour. "

I'm not entirely sure how Bounties work, I don't know if "re-entry" is the same thing as "re-buy", and I have no idea what alternates means. If someone's played in a tournament with any of these particular elements, could you please explain them to me.

This tournament is at Sunset Station in Henderson, NV if anyone cares.

  1. a bounty means that if you knock out a particular player, you earn extra money(in this case, $5) just for that reason

re-entry is the same thing as rebuy

an alternate is a person who buys into the tournament after it has started and fills the seat of a player who has been eliminated(and is not rebuying, since it is a rebuy structure)

  2. Usually a person is identified as the bounty and if they get taken out of the tournament, you win the bounty.  Re-entry is the same as rebuys.  Usually if a card room has say only 3 tables (10 per table) and can only seat a maximum of 30 players and there are 50 people that want to play, if a person is busted out and they don't want to rebuy, one of the extra individuals who did not get a seat in the first group of 30 can be an alternate and take the seat of the person who got knocked out. Hope this helps.
