Im confused... Are the players playing in a team so like Spain, Nadal,Ferrer... like the davis cup ?! Or is it every man for themselves just like a master series tournament. How come players arent receiving points towards there ranking for playing the Olympics ?

  1. Woooo! My first answer as Top Contributor!!!! I'm soooo happy! hahaha

Anyway to answer your question. No they are not in teams like the Davis Cup. However they are still representing their countries.

Yes it is every man for himself.

And actually players DO recieve points for participation. I think this is stupid but hey they do.

    Gold (400)

    Silver (280)

    Bronze (200)

Effectively its like a Masters event. I don't know how it's going to work because it's not like anyone will be able to defend there ranking points next year.

The Olympics is an Athetics event. It shouldn't be a tennis or football one!

  2. in the Olympics players represent their country but i believe that unlike the Davis cup they do not get to post a score card of win-loss... and yes they do receive rankings points: 400pts. for the winner...
