Can someone please genetically engineer a giant watermelon so I can hollow it out& have a warm place to sleep?

Why the $*#^ can't someone do something IMPORTANT with genetic engineering. Modifying crops to be stronger seems more like stupid, asking-for-trouble science rather than productively-thoughtful ideas. Just THINK of all the things we could use crazy plants for.. who likes my Water-melonbed idea :-D?

Use a pumpkin for a house, it's all ready hollow. Some farmers grow 500lb plus pumpkins

they do it all the time like engineering corn to produce more ethanol per plant. or giving plans resistance to bugs or even seedless watermelon
