  2. Sorry to inform you and mitzie, those prices are way out of date. For example, a litre of gasoline now costs 14,800 d, a bowl of pho (in the country-side) is 12,000 and up. A glass of iced coffee is 5,000 in the country and 10,000 in Saigon  (18,000 and up in district 1, tourist traps). The prices of EVERYTHING has risen 40% in the last year alone and rents in Saigon are ridiculously expensive. ($1000 USD and up) Fruit and vegetables are still relatively cheap, although rice has doubled in the last year to 8000/kg and meat is now more expensive here than in the US (80,000/kg for pork, 35,000/kg for chicken etc).

    I live in the Mekong Delta so these prices may not be the same in the rest of the country.
