umm..i no..read the book!

i had to read it 4 english last year..it is c**p..but u have to do it.

btw it's ALL about racism and the main character is more accepting of others than his friends. that's the general idea

You're going to have to read the book. Though I can tell you a bit about the main characters.

Gary 'Blacky' Black: He is the main character in the novel. He is a fourteen year old Australian Boy. He plays football but he isn't very good at it. He has four brothers and three sisters. He has a crush on Cathy, a stuck-up city girl. Blacky has to deal with a lot of major issues in the book one of the main ones being racism against Aborigines.

Pickles: Pickles is Blacky's best friend. He has poor personal hygiene and is a bit of a pervert. Pickles plays football also and is there for Blacky when he needs it, even though Blacky sometimes wonders why they're friends.

Dumby Red: Dumby is an Aboriginal boy from the Point. He is a star football player and is everything that Blacky wants to be. Dumby and Blacky's friendship happens gradually (Blacky despising him at first) but sticks up for Blacky in a fight which strengthens their friendship. Something awful happens to Dumby which makes Blacky realise how different the world really is.

Cathy: Cathy is a city girl that Blacky has a huge crush on. She is seen to be a stuck up ***** as the book progresses. Blacky soon gets over his frivolous crush on her.
