I have to make index cards for rhetorical devices by defining, writing an example, and drawing a picture based on the example.

Here's an example of the format:

Alliteration- repetition of beginning constant sounds.

Ex: "Peter Piper picked a peck of pickled peppers".

I still need the ones for:

Imagery- use of the five senses to create an image or picture with sounds.

Syntax- the authors' intentional placement or sentence elements(words, phrases, clauses).

Pun- a play on words.

Irony- When it becomes clear to the reader/audience that the Rhett means something different than the words said. The opposite what is expected happens.

Hyperbole- deliberate exaggeration.

Litotes- opposite of hyperbole diliberate understandment that intensifies an idea.

Consonance- repetition of constant sounds at the end of words.

Assonance- repetition of vowels.

Euphemism- a substitute expression for something harsh or offensive.

Allusion- reference to literature, history, classics, mythology, and the bible.

I would greatly appreciate it. I know it sounds like I'm asking for people to do my homework but, I'm already drowned in homework as it is. =/ Thanks. =D
