Now I want to buy a subwoofer (rear), so I am considering to buy the following sub and enclosure:

Now the question is do I need amplifier?

  1. yes you need a amplifier. no question about it... the deck is simply not for running subs for several reasons. 1) not enough output,  2) there is no mono output...3) no low pass filter.

there are many affordabel amplifiers that provide all three. and it really will make your sub come to life. since your not getting a amp for the mains, you could get a low power amp.

since it is a 4 ohm sub, i think a great match would be a bridged 2 channel amp, but a mono amp would work great as well. just be sure the output into a single 4 ohm load is not more than 250 watts RMS. (ignore peak and max ratings)

here are a couple sugestions that are quality amps at a reasonable price.

Or to save a bit more, i really like these amps for the money, they are not the quality of the above three, but they are good, sound great, and far less expensive.

  2. yes you will. The sub will have a very low level out put of volume

if you want to no how low hook up a set of  speaker wire's to the sub and you will find out. The cd player has a subwoofer preamp which  is great, that will run straight to your sub amp a good amp should not cost you more then $300

  3. yes you need a amp or it might ruin your sub and a deck does no have enough power to run a sub off of it so you need a amp for a sub. the amp connects directly to the battery whitch gives the amp enough power to run a sub
