Can someone please help me with density?

The density of a 60% solution of sulfuric acid in water is 1.5 g/mL. What weight of water is contained in 200 mL of this acid?

The answer is 120 g. I have no idea how the professor got this? Please help!!!

  1. 200 mL x 1.5 g/mL = 300 grams

    60% H2SO4 and 40% H2O

    40% of 300 g = 120 grams


  2. The g/ml doesnt matter, its just 60% of 200

    He must be wrong because sulphuric acid is denser than water and water is 1 g/ml, so he plugged water into the equation rather than sulphuric acid, sulphuric acid at 60% would be 180g

    (Besides I'm not sure you can thin water down to 60%)
