Hi im half way through making my 1st cardigan and im stumped on this next bit of the pattern, it says.

return to the last completed row worked, skip next 6 dc, rejoin yarn to nextdc and cont as follows.

I dont understand the bit where it says return to the last completed row.

ive just been ignoring the pattern when it says at the end work 1 row what does that mean.

  1. you are making a cardigan that has been worked in one piece up to the armhole shaping.

you have just completed one of the top sections of the cardigan - usually theright front first.

now you have to complete the top section of back so you have to rejoin the yarn to the last row of the bottom section - skipping 6dc (this will be the underarm) tie yarn to next stitch to be worked and complete the back

you will have to do this again when you go to complete the left side of the cardigan.

    good luck.

  2. This doesn't make sense as written.  It might in context, but as is it's confusing.

  3. Where it says "return to the last completed row worked" it means that instead of turning as usual, you will tie off and not turn the piece, but start again on the right side of the row (working towards the left side of the row).  You'll skip the first 6 double crochets made in the previous row and rejoin the yarn to the 7th DC from the edge.

"Work 1 row" means just that.  Work 1 row of the directions given (sometimes directions will say to work more than just 1 row the same).

Do you know how to rejoin the yarn?  Make a starting loop like you do before you begin the project.  With this loop on your hook, put the hook through the DC from front to back and make a slip stitch (just draw one new loop through the loop on your hook).

    Hopefully this will help!
