I have a genetic research assignment and one of the questions is....

What are some issues to do with genetic research that are currently under debate? Arguments for and against are required

Does anyone know any issues? :D

Stem cell research and cloning are two of the big ones. You should be able to find a lot of sources for your arguments with those.

1- Genetically modified crops: good for humans or not?

2- Is consumption of cloned animals a harmful to humans?

3- cloning of human and all the moral issues surrounding it

4- Biological warfare: production of deadly strains of viruses and bacteria to use as a warfare which I think we all agree that is a bad thing to do. However a very simillar process can produce viruses and bacteria that can actually help humans to fight cancer and diseases causing species of viruses and bacteria.

5- Choosing the gender of your child: is it a good idea or a bad one?
