Ok so I am doing Taekwondo and Im a yellow belt and I want to become an orange belt, and we need to learn Taeguk il Jang. Can someone please give me step by step instructions? because I saw a video but they go to fast so if I had step by step instructions it would be easier... the problem is my instuctor just looks at me when i make a mistake and not anyone else when they make a mistake. so i want to get it perfect next time and stuff it in his face. So can someone please give me instuctions with Taeguk il jang (yellow belt pattern) Also can someone who is really good in taekwando please give me their email address if they don't mind so i can send them some of my questions. thanks :D

  1. Tae Guk Il Jang

All front stances or walking stances (depends on your school) unless specified otherwise.

    Start in Joon-bee position.

1.) Turn left low block (left leg foward, left hand low block)

    2.) Step forward punch

3.) Turn 180 degrees (opposite direction) low block (right leg forward, right hand low block)

    4.) Step forward punch

5.) Turn 90 degrees left, low block punch (no step with the punch)

6.) Turn 90 back toward the right, inside mid block (with left hand)

7.) Step punch (with right hand)

8.) Turn 180 degrees (opposite direction) inside mid block (with right hand)

9.) Step punch (with left hand)

10.) Turn 90 degrees to the left, low block punch (no step with punch)

11.) Turn 90 degrees back to the right, high block left hand, snap kick right leg, set right leg down in forward position and punch (right hand)

12.) Turn 180 degrees (opposite direction) high block right hand, snap kick left leg, set leg down in forward position and punch left hand

13.) Turn 90 degrees to the right (facing opposite of your beginning position at the start of the form)

14.) feet together first, then step out left leg and low block with left hand

15.) Step forward and punch with right hand and ki-hap (final punch)

    16.) Return to Joon-Bee position

Your school probably has sheets that have all this typed out for you.  You can also view this form here (look under the Tae Guk column):

    Good luck!

    White - Yellow - Green - Blue - Red - Black
