Can someone please highlight the main tourism problems in benidorm, spain i wud really appreciate it?

it has to be problems with its tourism only and could u really expand on ideas, any at all wud be great,(people who have visited Benidorm, i wud like ur thoughts too) i'm trying to get a good grade in my geography project

Hi, well there´s plenty. Main ones though, are:

- Urban Overdevelpment . Too many buildings quite crowded and built at a time when there was no urban planning. Also too many skyscraper type of buildings and apartments.

- Overcrowding. Because of the cheap prices and type of tourism, as well as the above mentioned urvan excesses. Too mant tourist can be fit there so too often, specially summer months is overcrowded.

- Overcrowded beaches. You must look hard to find a place to put a martini size umbrella or sombrilla because the amount of people in the beach.

- Dirty water. Human polution in the meditterranean is ovbious but some places have more problems than other.

Benidorm really has not clear water because so many bathers bathing at saame time with sun creams and the works.

- Lack of good drinking water. Again as most of the Meditterranean coast the lack of good drinking water has been a huge problem and it means that everyone has too buy drinking water from stores. This can be a pain if you are many and because of the heat, thirst is normal, so you need to buy many litters of water at the local grocery.

- Desertification: This is also a general mediterranean problem. Southern wind often brings clouds of sand from the Sahara and combined with the lack of water and the overexplotation of agricultural resources means that the process of desertification afecting the South and mid spanih areas is quite worrying. Although theyare building desalinization plants to obtain "sweet" water from sea water by removing the salt, water restrictions are common and means water cuts several times a day if the season has been a dry one. Gobal warming is increasing this problem.

- Contamination: The type of tourism market attracts cheap tourism which often is not very educated and have no ecological concerns, they visit only few days and are not worried about the state of our beaches and land, so they dump all kind of trash platic bottles, bags etc all over and despite cleaning efforts by local authorities it is poluting the countryside and beaches.

- Plus points are guaranteed sun, guaranteed apartment and hotel places and goos enetertainment and vacation infrastructure lots of discos, bars, attractions etc which people enjoy. And many people seem to like to go to crowded places.
