  1. Do a search on BlueJeancables.com or Partsexpress.com or as mentioned Monoprice.com  all are very good quality and way, way chaper than store bought cables.

  3. Go to Walmart and buy their cheapest HDMI. No need to spend crazy money on an HDMI cable.  Unlike component and composite cables, HDMI is digital meaning that it's either or on or it's off. There's no in between. You either get the best picture possible, or not picture at all.

    HDMI is a digital signal so if a cable functions without showing obvious artifacts (skipping, blinking or blocking) then its performance is identical to any other working HDMI cable.
