i have a summer math packet and im having a lot of trouble with this problem.

HELP!

2/5 + 16= 0

(when i wrote 2 over 5 i didnt mean division, its a fraction)

  2. i think you need something more in your expression; there is no way you can add 2/5 and 16 to get zero...

    is your question 2/5 x +16=0

    if so, the solution is:

    2/5 x =-16

    x=-16x5/2

    x=-40

  3. Something is missing: 2/5 + 16 is just sixteen and two fifths, not zero.

    Do you mean, for example, what is x if two-fifths of x plus sixteen is zero? What is the real problem?

  4. this quest is wrong an u right,it can't be solved because there is no unknown.

        If it had not been equal to zero(2/5+16) then this is the right question.

  5. firstly, 2/5 in fraction is the same as 2 divide by 5.  are you sure this is algebra because in algebra there should be at least a variable.
