What is being said is people are not being tought to think for themselves (TV-Radio-internet-newspapers) if you had learned to think and analyze and learned how to learn, this article would be easily understood. I understood the basis of it just at a glance, before even reading it.

Basically he is saying that the control of newsprint over all we read has been undone. He obviously knows nothing about the Internet and its ability to enrich our lives,or maybe he does and it scares him.

The youth of today also scare him, they'll take his job.

A newspaper gives you the news in order of its importance/relevance. With the Internet, you have to search for it. If you don't know what you should be looking at, you don't learn anything from it.
