Can someone please tell everyone the real reason people call Rangers fans Huns?

as far as I've been told it was because sometime in the late 60-early 70's Rangers played a match in England, possibly Birmingham where their fans behaved the same way they did in Manchester. The newspapers in England apparently printed an article, calling them 'Huns', just like they did with many other clubs fans that behaved in that way. For some reason the tag stuck when concerning Rangers.

the germans were nicknamed the huns during the first world war as a way of demeaning them with reference to attila's mob..and as the royal family have strong links germany the name was then sarcastically used to slate for the royalty loving rangers fans

it has something to do with the Germans as they were called huns.....I have asked this and still not got a fecking clue!

after seeing them first hand in manchester i would call them animals i could not believe what i was seeing all i can say is i hope they are never near manchester again

It might be because you can reach Berlin in an hour and a half from anywhere in Europe. Bit like their team really in and out of Europe in 3 hours
