Can someone please tell me everthing there is to know about atv's?

Question

I've always wanted a 4 wheeler and now i'm lookin around for the perfect ne for me when it hit me... i've driven them before but i dont really know a thing about choosing one for my self. i need to be able to tell which transmission is better, how many cc's does it need to carry a 6 foot 250 lbs man. please.

i need to know every thing there is t know about them from driving to maintenance!!!!

depends on what type of riding your doing.

desert/track-450cc and up will be good if you are experienced, a 400 is great to learn on but you'll get bored quick. yamaha's 700 raptor is awesome, even though you have all the power you don't need to use it, better to have it and not need it. suzuki makes a nice 450. just go to a dealer and ask around. tell them what kind of riding you're going to do. get a manual tranny they are way funner.

main.-change the oil every 15-20 hours, clean air filter as often as possible and reoil it, check tire pressure/tread. check most of th bolts regularly. wash it after every ride, lube anything and everything that needs to get lubed (chain,bearings,linkage,etc.)

driving-get all your braking done before entering a corner, lean into the inside of the corner and roll on the throttle smoothly, put your weight on the rear while going up hills to get traction (butt towards the rear and head over the bars), bend your knees and elbows always, pinch the seat with your knees to hang on. slide through corners, pressure your front brake more then the rear (it slows you down faster). lean back while jumping, gas it all the way up the lip of the jump. lean back in whoops. and honestly the most valuable thing i've ever learned "when in doubt pin it!" seriously just gas it if you get in a sticky situation it has always saved my ***.
