  1. i don't know i ask the question below yours and no one has answered mine yet either that is probably because it is like 2 a.m. in Europe right now.

  2. No.  Its too difficult and you probably wouldn't under stand anyway.

  3. Although explaining rugby is like explaining s*x to a virgin... check out the following website.  its funny and a decent explanation.  And pretty much any semi-large-ish city in America has a rugby team- go to a game and see if you can find a friend that can go and explain the game while you watch.- Or start playing- thats the only real way to learn!

  4. I agree with Frederick S, there are several playstation games etc, which really are good for learning the basics of the game.

I know how hard it is to find TV coverage of Rugby games in the USA.

    Good Luck.

  5. Reverse lateral game to the scrum half. Detroit Trades men Rugby Club.

  6. check it out here:

  7. Its basically the same as American football except without any forward passing or blocking (oh and no pads).  Instead of blocking in front, rugby players push from behind and try to heel the ball back during the breakdown of play.

Rugby is continuous in that the game doesn't stop after a tackle.  The ball carrier must drop the ball when he is tackled or there is a penalty.

Actually American football is a spin-off from Canadian football (yup, we played it first) which is in turn a spin-off from rugby.

The word 'touchdown' comes from the fact that in rugby you actually have to touch the ball to the ground when you cross into the end-zone instead of just crossing the line.

  8. ball from the hands, only allowed to travel backwards. Kicking can go anywhere. Accidental breaking of rules results in scrum. Deliberate breaking of rules results in penalty. No head-hightackles or targeting genitals or throat. No fend with elbow. Apart from that, pretty much anything goes.

  9. Try these two web sites below.  To tell you the truth, the best way to learn how to play and watch a sport on TV is to play the video game version...

How many people have learned the details of American football by playing the Madden video games?  Do you think most people would have an idea what a cover 2, zone defense, and a deep out is without playing the video games at length?
