  1. It's just under 200 miles and therefore should take you about 3hours 20mins to drive.  The drive is straighforward and motorway all the way.  You need to pay to get into Wales over the Severn bridge (£5.10).

Trains - it's easy.  Tunbridge Wells to Waterloo.  A quick trip on the tube to Padington, then a direct train to Cardiff.  It will take you about 4 hours.

Unless you need a car once you are there I'd go by train.  Nice and easy journey, no stress and some lovely views on the way.

  2. No idea how long it would take on the train but by road it is a distance of around 182 miles and should take around 2hrs 50 mins to drive...but bear in mind any hold ups there may be on the road such as the amount of traffic, roadworks and accidents, any of these could increase your journey time, as could bad weather!

  3. I went London (Hounslow) to Cardiff by car and it took me about 3.5 hours. I hope this helps!

  4. without traffic/road or railworks:

train will take around 3 hrs 45 mins (train to london, to waterloo then paddington, direct to cardiff from there)

car will take about 3 and a half hours
