Can someone please tell me how to play crossword puzzles?

i really want to play the game but i dont know how to play it. it look so hard. please someone help me!!!

the game is simple u just have to answer the question in teh spot it has to be the right answer u can tell cause evrything lines up to words. for example 11 down  Who was the first president then you would right in 11 down GEORGEWASHINGTON its real simple if u know the answers

its very simple all you need is answer the riddle and it tells you were to put the answer

crossword puzzles are very hard to play though because there so many words that fit the clues they give you
