Can someone please tell me if it is true that AFL footballers.....?

.....who play this game, only play it because they are not manly, or tough enough, to play rugby league?

No - it's because they would like to try a game that has an international stage. Like maybe they could play against NZ, England or France or maybe even take part in the upcoming World Cup.

AFC players of course could play in their WC, against themselves. I guess tho that the AFC players are used to playing with themselves...

I believe they play because they prefer the Aussie rules code to the Rugby league code.

Nah,... it has nothing to with being manly . AFL IS A GAME OF SKILL, players can hold the ball to kick it 70 metres ,rather than kick it off the ground like 2yo's do.   Its also the ego factor , played in every state, as oppossed to 2, with a team in another, in front of larger crowds, larger television audiences, and at the worlds "best" stadium, the MCG.    Rugby will "never" equal that, its simple

Rugby league is g*y. Union n AFL is way tougher. In most of Australia AFL is much bigger than rugby league.  It doesn't really work like that. The guys play th sport that they enjoy most and are better at. Anyway both games need skill in their own rights. So you cant be able to play professional AFL if you suck...or really any proffessional sport.
