Can someone please tell me if you can take golf clubs on a cruise ships for the shore excursions?

we are going on the Carnival Glory. Also can we check them with our luggage or do we have to carry these on ourselves?

To add to the above answers: If you don't want to have the schlep your golf clubs with you, you can also call Sports Express (800-357-4174, SportsExpress.com) and they can pick up your clubs from your home and send them directly to the shore excursion so they're there waiting for you whenever you arrive.

yes you can.....but check with your cruise line to make sure you can take a certain size. you are normaly allowed three pieces of luggage per person so your clubs might restrict your wifes shoes. you can rent clubs at most of the courses.

I just want to clarify a statement made in one answer.  You can take as much luggage as you need.  He must have been referring to the airplane.  Just remember, your luggage is stored in  your stateroom.  My friend and I took a 17 day cruise to Hawaii and back.  We drove to San Pedro to board the ship.  We each had 6 pieces.  ( two of them were garment bags, each. )  Take your clubs.  Have a great time.
