Can someone please tell me the meaning of this line ?

"We are yet but young in deed" .. can someone please summarize this in plain english =) .. its from shakespears play Macbeth. I dont need to relate this line to the play. I just want to know what does it mean in simple english. THANKS!

  1. Lomax is right. The carpenters said that sort of thing as well when they warbled, "We've only just begun" ... and then listed all the things they were going to do.


  2. It IS in plain English.  If you want a more longwinded (and frankly less satisfying) version try - "This deed we're engaged in; well, we've not been at it for very long, and I'm not sure we're very good at it."

    I prefer Shakespeare's version.

  4. I thought it meant that that they had just started doing things that needed to be done.
