  2. the answers here are correct, however, I didn't notice whether anyone mentioned the kicker.  That is the tie breaker if more than one person has the same hand.

  3. ace, pair, 2 pair, 3 of a kind, straight, flush, full house,4 of a kind, straight flush, royal flush.

  4. Here's a link to the list.  With examples.

  5. Do you know how to play poker?... well... the hands rank the same... it's a matter of how the GAME is played.

  6. Here is the list high to low:

Royal Flush: 10 through Ace of same suit

    (Ac-Kc-Qc-Jc-10c)

Straight Flush: Five cards in sequence of same suit

    (3h-4h-5h-6h-7h)

Four of a Kind (aka quads): Four cards of the same value

    (As-Ac-Ad-Ah-10s)

Full House (aka full boat): Three of a kind and one pair

    (2s-2h-2d-3h-3c)

Flush: Five cards of the same suit

    (2s-4s-8s-Ks-As)

Straight: Five cards of any suit in sequence

    (9c-10s-Jh-Qd-Kd)

Three of a Kind (aka trips, set): Three cards of the same value

    (Ad-As-Ac-Ks-10d)

    Two Pair:

    (8d-8h-5s-5h-As)

    One Pair:

    (Ad-Ah-Ks-10d-9h)

High Card: No pair or better, just a high card

    (As-Kd-10h-5s-3d)

  7. Royal Flush - An Ace-High straight of one suit.

Straight Flush - A straight of entirely one suit.

Four-of-a-Kind (Quads) - Four cards of the same rank.

Full House (Full Boat, Boat) - Three-of-a-kind and a pair. The example below would be called "Queens over Aces" or "Queens full of Aces".

Flush - Five cards of the same suit.

Straight (Run) - Five cards of sequential rank. Note that in holdem, Aces can be high or low.

An example of a straight where the Ace is low:

Three-of-a-Kind (Trips, Set) - Three cards of the same rank.

Two Pair - Two cards of the same rank and another two cards of the same rank. The example below would be called "Jacks and Twos".

One Pair - Two cards of the same rank.

High Card - When you don't have any of the above, your highest card determines your hand. The example below would be "King High" or "High card King".
