Can someone please tell me what spices are used in BBQ chips/peanuts etc? ?

I am on a salt restricted diet so chips, peanuts and popcorn are off limits but I could make my own if I knew the spices.

Sugar (or molasses) is huge part of bbq flavour.  It offsets the saltiness.  Onions, garlic, paprika, cumin, fresh pepper, lemon juice/vinegar and/or tomato paste, dried parsley are in there, too.  Sometimes, you find worcestershir and soy sauce in it, too.  (Both are high in sodium.)

well - salt (I guess just leave it out), chili powder, cumin, maybe a dash cayenne, dry mustard, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder.
