dad just moved to va and can't find a place to fish and catch something

I'd try the James River - we've done good there - but you might try going to Wal-Mart and look for a map called the Atlas - Gazetteer it lists all the rivers, lakes, streams in the state also what is next to them like camping, picnicing, bait, swimming etc and what kinds of fish may be found there....

Check out Google Earth and search your area for ponds and lakes nearby.I've found a few near me that I never knew existed and I've lived here for 15 years now lol!
