Can someone please tell me why there can't be an electro-magnetic car?

I was thinking why can't the same polarity flipping principle which drives bullet trains drive a car and eliminate the need for an internal combustion engine all together. I understand you couldn't have a massive interstate track system which flips polarity to propel the vehicle but I think there is no reason why there couldn't be some kind of smaller track which could take the place of the drivetrain which drives a belt or something that could turn the wheels. add solar panels and windmilling miniature wind turbines and the car could even create it's own electricity. Am I crazy for thinking there is no reason why that shouldn't exist?

  1. Yes, money and thinking, are missing. Some body some day will read this, and think, dman that might work. One of the thories about UFO, are how they are powered, by magnetic forces. You may be ahead or you time. As it is all electric motor work off of electric force fields and magnetic. Work on it

  2. $

Its all about $, they don't give a rats a** about people or the earth. The thing you said is 100% possible, but there is no one who is willing to spend billions (perhaps trillions) of dollars on that kind of project.

  3. I'm guessing what your talking about has been thought of by someone in the position to potentially get it done.  But it all comes down to money.  That would cost trillions with the possibility of failure.  I did hear of a new electric generating system that looks promising.  It involves putting rows of "bouncers" under the pavement, when they are driven on they create large amoutns of electricty.  So that could help.
