Why is Cheney running around the world talking about Russia's "illegitimate, unilateral" war? What in the h**l does he think the entire world thinks about our actions in Iraq?

Does anyone understand that what we did in Iraq paved the way for Russia to act without fear of retribution? h**l, Russia even had more to act on that we did with Iraq... They were protecting an ally. We pre-emptively invaded a country based on a hunch.

I cant believe anyone will agree with you.  

Our war in iraq was to depose saddam hussein and enforce U.N. resolutions.  We disarmed his WMD programs with our military power (where did all those WMDs go? Syria?)  

Russias war was to enlarge its territory and enslave the people of a tiny, defenseless province and confiscate their resources.

Have you noticed that we did not confiscate all the oil in iraq?  And that we are trying to set up a democracy there and provide security?

Russia launches a straight up, old school invasion of a country, just like saddam in the first gulf war, and you conclude that it is just like iraq.  

Russia was not protecting an ally.  No reasonable person thinks that.  Russia has publicly stated their intention to invade georgia for more than a year.  They have installed a puppet government and rule by military might.  

Georgia would be insane to attack russia.  That would be like mexico attacking the U.S. because they want texas back.

The soviets used to send in "peacekeeping troops" to protect a road that t hey decided to build in another country (how do they even get to do that?) and then they fake an attack on their troops.  They use the phony attack as an excuse to send in more peacekeepers, and before you know the peacekeepers have started a war.  

I think you should look into this matter  much more closely.
