  1. Not all anti-spyware removes 100% of spyware.  Be careful also of anti-spyware that slows your computer down.  Another thing I like to know is if it is accredited by the BBB.  Hope this helps you out

  2. use only good and updated version of antivirus and antispyware

  3. I suspect that the pop-ups come from a registry entry made by that particular company. Unless you are familuar with editing your registry, I wouldn't recommend doing that. You'll need to instal a good anti-spyware program. There are several free ones which do a good job. Spy-bot is a free one that springs to mind. You can Google for anti-spyware programs. I use Spy Doctor. It isn't free, but well worth the money. It's a good idea to have more then one ant-spyware program, unlike an ant-virus program, where you can only have one, as otherwise they conflict and can cause a computer crash. If you decide to get Spy Doctor, have it start with Windows and use the Free ones as a back-up to run occasionally.

  4. This happened to one of our computers too, out of nowhere; but I was able to get rid of the annoying program/virus.

There are 3 things that you need to do all 3

    below A, B, and C.

These tools do an EXCELLENT job, and the "home' versions are FREE to the public.

(The business versions you should purchase)

    A.

    Avast free Home Edition

    Get it here:

    http://www.avast.com/eng/avast_4_home.ht...

And please do a "thorough" scan as soon as you get it downloaded. The user interface is simple. Click the left side, and in the top menu that comes up, select thorough scan.

When it finds a culprit it throws up an alarm, then you DELETE the culprit, (do not quarantine).

Then allow it to run all of the time, and you will be completely protected. It will "automatically" update itself, also for free.

You only need to renew your registration once a year, also free.

Note: I KNOW of several people who have used AVG and Norton and have gotten a virus anyway.

Don't go with Zone Alarm as it is hoggy and conflicting.

I've tried them all, and have had wonderful results with DEPENDABLE AVAST for the last 5 years.

The corporation I work for uses the Pro version, and has never has an incident. Avast is your answer.

    B.

Get free Ad-AWARE spy-removal tool from Lavasoft

    1. Download, install and run this program weekly or more.

Then you can be really confident that you are protected at all times.

    C. Perform a system restore to a time BEFORE the infection. Got to START > Programs > Accessories > Systems Tools > System Resore >

follow the prompts and select a date and time before the infection >

    Restart your computer

  7. Best thing to do is go to AVG.com and download the free version of the virus and spy ware protection. The other stuff like spy bot is actually designed to give you its own spy ware. This is the ads you are getting it is a scam. Just get AVG and it updates itself every day. AVG is highly recommended  Its great! Also, stay away from porno sites.
