  1. The bible is not a textbook

  2. Well since the word Dinosaur was not created untill around 1841 and the bible was written hundereds of years before that Its not suprising.

"Concerning the Bible and dinosaurs, we should not be surprised that the word ‘dinosaur’ is nowhere to be found. It wasn’t until 1841 when the term was created to refer to a species of large reptiles that had been identified some twenty years earlier. In 1822, it is said that a Mary Anne Mantell was taking a stroll through a rock quarry, in search of fossil specimens for her husband Dr. Mantell, when she came across the most extraordinary stone. Showing it to her husband, he was baffled and after analyzing the rock, came to the conclusion that it must have belonged to some ancient and presently extinct race of creatures. And, this is what sparked the subsequent discovery of countless other fossils remains of, what we now know today as dinosaurs.

Furthermore, there are passages in the Bible some are inclined to believe describe dinosaurs. For example, Job 40:15-24 identifies two sorts of creatures (a behemoth and leviathan) that could be what scientists have identified as some sort of Brachiosaurus and perhaps something like one of the aquatic dinosaurs. But, even if they are not, the Bible does not reference every species of animal. It was never meant to be used as a zoology text. The presence of dinosaurs, thus, poses no threat to the historical accuracy and contextual integrity of Scripture. "

  3. There are lots of mysteries.  Some just don't add up, but that doesn't mean that the pieces aren't true.  It could be that man the spiritual creature was created, but man the animal lived with the dinosaurs in the process of evolution.  Afterall, God did say "let us make man in our image."  And God is spirit.  The Bible doesn't mention automobiles, but i see them everywhere.  It does mention "in those days giants roamed the earth."  And archeologists have discovered human remains over 12 feet tall.

The Bible gives bits and pieces and clues, just enough to point you in the right direction.  But because the knowledge is incomplete, you are to live by faith, not by knowledge.

  4. god is a Dinosaur

  6. Sez right here in the Bible......

    Job........verse 6:11....

"and on the 8th day......  God was bored, and  made dinosaurs, and they were awesome.  But they kept eating his other creations....so he flooded the world,  and killed them all  and then populated it, with, what I guess was one freaking incestuous family.

Yeah.....I don't know..........alot of the bible stories don't really make a whole lot of sense, do they?

  7. I can't answer you.. you are taking everything out of context... have you prayed for an answer? You should. God needs to know the ulterior motivation of your question... You never tempt God or you go to h**l!... Hey, How am I doing? I am trying to give you the typical answer from a Christian perspective. That is the answer I was getting in my questions so I stopped questioning!

  8. The only way you're really going to get help is if you put down the bible and pick up a science book.  The story of creation is just that... a story.  It is an explanation created by people who did not understand yet how things worked.

  9. It is a mistake to look for these answers in the bible. God simply did not make Adam and Eve.  If so, we would find fossils of humankind spontaneously appearing 6000 years ago in Mesopotamia.  We don't.  The bible doesn't mention dinosaurs.

  10. Okay - all GREAT questions!

But I do not have the space with YA to get to all of them - so I'm going to provide you with links to them - ok?

I would recommend spending the most time on the last one - it answers most of your questions.

    Shalom

  11. No, according to the Genesis story, G-d rested on the seventh day, so I guess that means he made humankind (man and woman) on the sixth day.  But IIRC, according to Jewish tradition, Eve wasn't the first woman, Lilith was.  She and Adam were both made at the same time in the same way, but Lilith refused to be subservient to Adam, and abandoned him. Only then did G-d create Eve, from Adam's rib.

Dinosaurs appear nowhere in Genesis or any of the other books of the Jewish Tanakh or the Old Testament -- for the simple reason that the Bronze Age shepherds and tribesmen who wrote those books knew nothing about them.   We now know from fossil evidence that dinosaurs predate humanity by millions and millions of years.

Likewise, you can search through all of Scripture and find no references at all to the countries of the Far East (China, Japan, the Pacific Islands) or to the continents of the Western Hemisphere (North, Central and South America) -- again because the Middle Eastern tribesmen who wrote the Bible knew nothing about them or the people living in those parts of the world.

In addition, the Bible claims that the earth is the center of the universe and that the sun, moon, planets and stars all revolve around the earth, yet we've known for hundreds of years that THAT'S not true either.

So you can't take the Bible literally as a source of information about history, geography or astronomy -- or any of the sciences for that matter.

  12. Ooh, good luck trying to rationalise that one!!

Genesis  is not real, it's a story.

Our DNA tells us the truth.

  13. Adam & Eve, and the dinosaurs were created on the 6th day of creation week.

The word "dinosaur" didn't come into use until 1841. Such creatures are mentioned in Job 40:15-24; 41:1-34.

  14. Adam&Eve were the last living animals that God created on the sixth day, mind you that they were both created in the image of God. All other living creatures He created on the fifth day and part of the sixth day. Then God placed Adam&Eve in charge of all His creation. On the 7th. day God rested. Yes, all of the animals God created before Adam&Eve, that would include the dinosaurs, all creatures of the air, land and sea. All plants and trees were also created before Adam&Eve. You can read the whole thing in the first chapters of Genesis, the first book of the Bible. As to the time that they were created in regards to our time, I don`t know for sure, since time doesn`t exist for God in the way we measure it. In some other books, I believe the book of Daniel or the Psalms, although I may be mistaken, it is stated that one day for us is like a thousand days for God. So that would take care of the eons of years in which the dinosaurs thrived before Adam&Eve came on the scene. God does mention huge creatures named Leviathans in Genesis also, weather they were dinosaurs that God was talking about I don`t know if anyone knows.

  15. There never were any dinosaurs.

Before God made man, he made fossils to test our faith.  If you believe in dinosaurs, you have failed the test.

  16. Dinosaurs are not real!

  17. probably not termed as dinosaurs.. i guess, they fall in the 'all the beasts' category.

    Dinosaurs and the Bible

An aura of mystery surrounds the dinosaurs. Where did they come from? Did they evolve? Did they really live millions of years ago? What happened to them? Are there any living today? Has any human being ever seen a live dinosaur?

Children and adults alike are absolutely fascinated by these mysterious monsters. Numerous books and movies have been produced to satisfy a seemingly insatiable hunger for information on these puzzling creatures. The truth of the matter, however, is that there are no real mysteries at all, once you have key information that is not generally known and is withheld from the public.

Come with me as we take a walk through history and uncover some amazing facts that will answer many of your questions about these ‘terrible lizards.’

    Did Dinosaurs Really Exist?

Dinosaurs certainly did roam the Earth in the ancient past! Fossils of dinosaurs have been found all over the world, and their bones are displayed in museums for all to see. Scientists have been able to reconstruct many of their skeletons, so we know much about how they may have looked.

    When Were Dinosaurs Found?

The story of their discovery began back in the 1820s, when Gideon Mantell, an English doctor, found some unusual teeth and bones in a quarry. Dr Mantell realized there was something very different about these animal remains, and believed that he had found an entirely new group of reptiles. By 1841, about nine types of these different reptiles had been uncovered, including two called Megalosaurus and Iguanodon.

At this time, a famous British scientist (and creationist), Dr Richard Owen, coined the name ‘Dinosauria,’ meaning ‘terrible lizard,’ for this is what the huge bones made him think of.

    What Makes Dinosaurs Different?

Other than the huge size of some dinosaurs, the major feature that really distinguishes dinosaurs from other reptiles (such as crocodiles) is the position of their limbs. Dinosaurs had posture that was fully erect, similar to that in mammals. Most other reptiles have limbs in a sprawling position. For instance, compare the way a crocodile ‘walks’ with that of, say, a cow. Dinosaurs would have moved like a cow, with the limbs supporting the body from beneath. Crocodiles ‘waddle,’ as their limbs project sideways from their body.

    How Big Were Dinosaurs?

Some were as small as chickens, and others were even smaller. Of course, some dinosaurs were very large, weighing in at an estimated 80 tons and standing 40 feet high! The average size of a dinosaur, however, was probably about that of a small horse.

    When Did Dinosaurs Live?

The story we have all heard from movies, television, newspapers, and most magazines and textbooks is that dinosaurs lived millions of years ago. According to evolutionists, the dinosaurs ‘ruled the Earth’ for 140 million years, dying out about 65 million years ago. However, scientists do not dig up anything labeled with those ages. They only uncover dead dinosaurs (i.e., their bones), and their bones do not have labels attached telling how old they are. The idea of millions of years of evolution is just the evolutionists’ story about the past. No scientist was there to see the dinosaurs live through this supposed dinosaur age. In fact, there is no proof whatsoever that the world and its fossil layers are millions of years old. No scientist observed dinosaurs die. Scientists only find the bones in the here and now, and because many of them are evolutionists, they try to fit the story of the dinosaurs into their view.

Other scientists, called creation scientists, have a different idea about when dinosaurs lived. They believe they can solve any of the supposed dinosaur mysteries and show how the evidence fits wonderfully with their ideas about the past, beliefs that come from the Bible.

The Bible, God’s very special book (or collection of books, really), claims that each writer was supernaturally inspired to write exactly what the Creator of all things wanted him to write down for us so that we can know where we (and dinosaurs) came from, why we are here, and what our future will be. The first book in the Bible—Genesis—teaches us many things about how the universe and life came into existence. Genesis tells us that God created everything—the Earth, stars, sun, moon, plants, animals, and the first two people.

Although the Bible does not tell us exactly how long ago it was that God made the world and its creatures, we can make a good estimate of the date of creation by reading through the Bible and noting some interesting passages:

God made everything in six days. He did this, by the way, to set a pattern for mankind, which has become our seven day week (as described in Exodus 20:11). God worked for six days and rested for one, as a model for us. Furthermore, Bible scholars will tell you that the Hebrew word for day used in Genesis 1, can o

  19. Go to the Creation Museum in Kentucky.  They have a statue of a man riding a dinosaur.  lmao

  20. The story of Adam and Eve is a symbolic story explaining that everybody does bad things: men as well as women.  The Bible does not mention dinosaurs at any time.

The story states that man was created on the 6th day and that God rested on the 7th, in order to create a precedent for having one day a week when you couldn't get any work done of any kind.

  21. When viewed as mythology, it makes sense.

  22. I think Genesis Chap's 1&2 have different times. You can check it out at skepticsannotatedbible.com

There are no real mentions of dinosaurs. Some say the 'Leviathan' and 'Behemoth' in The Book of Job but interpreters have concluded the words should be translated as 'crocodile' and 'hippopotamus', respectively.

Edit: Still not sure about the day but Genesis 1 says God created male and female together...Chapter 2 says he created man, then the animals, then he made a female out of Adam's rib.

  23. Adam and Eve were created on the 6th day.  Genesis 1:26-31

Dinosaurs were also made on the 6th day.  Genesis 1:24,25

Job 40:17 & 18 "He moveth his tail like a cedar:  the sinews of his stones are wrapped together.  His bones are as strong pieces of brass, his bones are like bars of iron."   Sounds like a dinosaur to me.

  24. The explanation is that the Genesis creation story is just a myth.

Sorry, archeology, paleontology, geology, cosmology and a load of other sciences have all proved it wrong.

  25. Adam and Eve were created on the 6th day. The word dinosaur wasn't invented until the 1800s so it is reasonable that it is not found in the Bible. The Bible does say that God created all life. The beasts of the earth, which would include dinosaurs, were created on the 6th day just before Adam and Eve. Large beasts are mentioned in the Bible, including Job, Genesis and Psalms. The description of some of these beasts fits perfectly with what we know about dinosaurs. God rested on the 7th day because He had completed His creation.

  26. Maybe God didn't mention it because it was a fail experiment.

Other than that, there was no Garden of Eden.

  27. ya it does mention dinosaur, but I'm not sure what part exactly, but it says something about great huge animals with cedar tree tails and such

  28. on the 6th day He made humans

dinosaurs were probably made BEFore Eden in another version previously on earth but we dk for sure...

some say they are in job 40 but thats guessing...

    dinosaurs arent religion...

  29. Yes God made man on the 6th day.  (The seventh he rested)

Many people don't realize that paleontology (the study of past geological ages based primarily on the study of fossils) is a relatively new science. In fact, the concept of "dinosaurs" only surfaced in its present form less than 180 years ago. Prior to that, anyone who found a large fossilized bone assumed it came from an elephant, dragon or giant. It wasn't until 1841 that English scientist Richard Owens suggested that the group of "newly discovered" animals be called "dinosaurs" (meaning, "terrible lizards"). Therefore, we shouldn't expect to see dinosaurs in the Bible, but we should expect to see descriptions of "dragons" and other large creatures. In fact, we do!

A search for the word "dragon" in the King James Version (KJV) of the Bible produces 34 separate matches across 10 different books written between approximately 2000 BC and 90 AD. The word "dragon" ( Hebrew: tannin) is used throughout the Old Testament, and most directly translates as "sea or land monsters." Interestingly, Genesis 1:21 describes God's creation of sea dragons (tannin) on the 5th day. Today's Bible translations use the following terms instead: "great whales" (KJV), "the great creatures of the sea" (NIV), "the great sea monsters" (NASB), and "great sea creatures" (NLT, NKJV). However, the original Hebrew is more descriptive of the sea-going dinosaurs we now see in numerous museums throughout the world. Even more dramatic is the Book of Job, where the author describes the great land creature, Behemoth (Job 40), and the great water creature, Leviathan (Job 41). Although the latest Bible translations use the words elephant, hippo or crocodile instead of Behemoth and Leviathan, the original Hebrew and the context of the descriptions do not allow for these interpretations.  Descriptions of dinosaur-like creatures are nearly universal throughout the world's ancient cultures. Where did this global concept originate? How did societies throughout the world describe, record, draw, etch, sew and carve such creatures in such uniformity, if they did not witness these creatures during their lifetimes? Of course, these accounts are by no means limited to the Bible. Dragon accounts from China, Europe, the Middle East, and Latin America share similar accounts of dinosaur-like beasts. Records of Marco Polo in China show that the royal house kept dragons for ceremonies, and records of the Greek historian Herodotus and the Jewish historian Josephus describe flying reptiles in ancient Egypt and Arabia. In many cultures it was a great honor to kill these creatures. There are numerous records of warriors killing great beasts in order to establish credibility in a village. Gilgamesh, Fafnir, Beowulf and other famous legends, including the mythology of Egypt, Greece and Rome, provide specific descriptions of dragons and other dinosaur-like creatures.

Dinosaurs are depicted on numerous objects of ancient art throughout the world. Dinosaur-like creatures are featured on Babylonian landmarks, Roman mosaics, Asian pottery and royal robes, Egyptian burial shrouds and government seals, Peruvian burial stones and tapestries, Mayan sculptures, Aboriginal and Native American petroglyphs (carved rock drawings), and many other pieces of ceremonial art throughout ancient cultures. If dinosaurs supposedly went extinct at least 50 million years ago, how did ancient man of the last few thousand years precisely and uniformly depict them? The Bible is clear -- sea creatures were created by God on Day 5 and land creatures were created by God on Day 6. These creatures included dinosaurs, which co-existed with man until they died off for various reasons, including most dramatically, the worldwide flood of Noah.

  30. fiction: god adam and eve

fact :evolution slow process by which organisms were produced from simple molecules > eventually dinosaurs

  31. The Bible and most Holy (healthy) Books are manuals to help you understand yourself.

One day in the Creator sense could be 1,000000 years or more.  Thus  God could have set up everything in seven stages which the bible calls seven days.  Time being the bases of all illusion and creation.

In the Garden of Eden story it would seem the world was green and lush and plentifull; then Humanity was introduced. The rest is History.

Do we really have to understand everything with our physical brains.  imo our brains are very limited even the best trained brains.

God is everything from start to finish.

    Live in God :))
