A friend of mine had a interview @ the American embassy in Manila,i was told that all her documents for a tourist visa were good,but the problem is money for a tourist visa.I heard that alot of money is needed for final approval.I was told around 3,000 thousand USA dollars ,Does this sound about right or should it be lower thank you for your help

If someone is asking you to give them US $3,000 as flash money, or to put into an account in order to seem like a legitimate visa applicant, do not do it - it is a con.  Although visa applicants must be able to demonstrate an ability to cover the costs associated with their trip to the States, and their bank accounts do represent solvency and stability, there is no established dollar amount that a person must have in order to qualify for a visit visa to the US.


  2. 3,000 dollars is enough for the expenses to be incurred in a US visit and the visa might be granted by the consul if the documents for the application are complete.
